I received a request for birding help from a couple from New Hampshire who are planning to visit Utah soon.
If someone has some good info they could pass on to these visiting birders, that would be great.
Thanks,
Milt Moody

Here's the e-mail they sent:

My wife and I will be traveling in southern Utah during the first two
weeks
of June. We will be visiting the great National Parks of your state
starting
in Zion and Bryce and then crossing the state to Moab. Eventually, we
will
find ourselves in Mesa Verde, CO. Although the we expect the scenery to
be
fantastic, we are also hoping to fill in some glaring gaps in our
wantlist
while we are traveling and we will be devoting a significant amount of
our
trip to birding.

We have a relatively limited number of species that are critical targets
for
us, never having done any serious birding in the pinyon-juniper belt and
adjacent scrublands of the American west. They are, specifically: Gray
Vireo, Gray Flycatcher, Pinyon Jay and Virginia's Warbler.

Any help from you or those who subscribe to Utahbirds in giving us any
advice regarding specific sites and locations for these particular
species
would be very much appreciated. Would you be kind enough to post our
request on your listserve? Of course, we would be happy to reciprocate
the
kindness to anyone who has an urge to come out our way to look for any
of
the NE specialties.

Thank you very much.

Best regards,
