Several birds reported earlier in the week on the Antelope Island Causeway were still present on Saturday morning. These include 2 Red Knots, 1 Dunlin, 1 Snowy Plover, hundreds of Black-bellied Plovers (I searched in vain for an American Golden), and huge numbers of peeps, including Western and Least Sandpipers. As before, the birds were concentrated north of MM6.
On the island, the family of Burrowing Owls was on the rocks below the Visitor's Center, along with pronghorns (yes, I know they aren't birds, but I watch whatever critters happen to show up), Rock Wrens, and Chukars. Nice morning to be out. Windshield required 3 scrubbings. . . Long trip home due to closed freeway.
