Well, last night we saw our first Black Headed Grosbeak. We didn't see him
this evening but they usually raise babies around here so we think he will
be back. We have several pairs of White Crowned Sparrows.
The most awesome thing is that we had our first... full breed plumage...
male Oriole of the season.
My husband woke up this morning thinking he heard his chirpping cry. He
went out but didn't see him.
Tonight.... he was all over the back yard and on the nectar feeder. I put
out the second nectar feeder.
The females should be here in the next week or so. Last year we had so many
breeding pairs we could keep them straight!
Whoot!!!
What a great birding weekend in our own backyard!
Brenda
PS We have so many brown headed cowbirds it makes me ill. Any ideas on
getting rid of them?
