The Semi-palmated Plovers I saw at the causeway this afternoon around 3 pm were on the south side at the first water as you head west. I didn't note the location, but I'll guess it was around mile 6.0-5.5. There were five or six of them.

  Subject: [Birdtalk] Semipalmated Plover

Antelope Island @, or there abouts, mile marker 3, a Semipalmated Plover was seen. My two sisters, LaNita and Amy were birding this area a few days ago, and spotted one on the South side. Watch the rocks carefully, they are quite small.
I just got back from Alaska and spotted one there, however it was accidental because we were watching a Long-Tailed Jaeger. When the Jaeger disappeared, I just happened to spot the Semi...on the road behind our car. What fun Alaska was. We saw much of the interior from Fairbanks all the way down to Anchorage. I picked up 11 new species, even in the slow month of July. I'm eager to return next May when there is more happening. I did see 50 species total, and many of those a lot of times! Many Goldeneyes & Red-necked Grebes, etc., etc.
Good luck with the Semipalmated Plover. If you see it please let us know on this birdline for others who may not have ever seen it.
