[Birdtalk] WBS / UOS Fall Conference Information

Hello Everyone -

You are all invited to attend Brigham City's first "Western Birding
Symposium," being held in conjunction with the "Utah Ornithological Society
Fall Conference."  The event will be held at the new James V. Hansen
Wildlife Education Center at Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge August 17-19,
2006; with a "pre-symposium" all-day field trip to the Uintas on August 16.
The event features morning field trips, afternoon speakers and late
afternoon or evening social or banquet with Pete Dunne.  The UOS will have
its annual membership meeting on Saturday afternoon, bringing an end to the
event.

We have a wonderful line-up of speakers, and will likely add a couple more.
We're very excited to have Pete Dunne coming for the weekend, and his
presentations on Thursday (The Art of Pishing) and Friday (Twenty Things
That Changed Birding) evenings will no doubt be a big hit!  He will also
sign books for you.

PLEASE NOTE:  Brigham City has kindly offered their web site to take
registrations for the conference.  A more detailed information flyer, along
with a registration form and ability to register using PayPal, should be
available by the middle of next week.  In the meantime, check out the
weekend schedule and help us spread the word!

I'll send another email when the web site is operating and ready to take
registrations.  There will also be hard copies of the flyer sent next week,
so that you may pay by mail/check if you wish.  IF YOU ARE NOT currently a
member of the Utah Ornithological Society or the American Birding
Association, I invite you to send me an email with your name and mailing
address; I'll send you a hard copy of the Symposium flyer.
