Hi all,
A couple of friends and I went for a run up to Dog Lake from the end of the
Millcreek Canyon road today. I heard at least two WINTER WRENS singing
along the way. The first bird was heard singing on the coniferous
hillside (the beginning of the trail) immediately to the south of
the highest parking lot. The second bird was much higher in elevation near
where there is a 4-way junction (I think with the Big Water Trail).
HAMMOND'S, DUSKY and CORDILLEREAN FLYCATCHERS were all heard singing at
various points along the trail. Other usual suspects heard were several
singing GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLETS, 1 BROWN CREEPER, WARBLING VIREOS, HERMIT
THRUSHES, YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS, MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLERS, WESTERN TANAGERS,
CHIPPING SPARROWS, DARK-EYED JUNCOS, etc..
