Birders,

I am from out of state but this posting made me wonder whether my siting was
less common than I expected. While staying (and birding) with some friends in
Park City, UT, I saw 12 Barrow's Goldeneye on a small (heated) pond near the
Park City Mountain Resort-- a site that may be part of the Park City Country
Club? It is near a series of groomed Cross Country Trails. I have much
experience with male and female Barrow's Goldeneye from the east coast and
summers in Wyoming. I have no question about the ID of these birds. Also
present were 6 Common Goldeneye, 125 Mallards, and 3 Canada Geese.

How uncommon are Barrow's Goldeneye in this part of UT? Being from MA, I was
uncertain. Thanks for any response.
