[Birdtalk] Bountiful Landfill CLOSED to birders!

This afternoon Colby Neuman and I headed to the Bountiful Landfill to sift
through the gulls.  We were stunned when we stopped to ask if it would be okay
to look through the gulls and the guy at the gate shook his head and said,
"Nope."  He told us there was too much traffic and with the construction going
on birders wouldn't be allowed on the property this year.  I didn't try to
persuade him and felt it would be better to maybe write a letter to whoever is
in charge and explain our position.  I am probably not the person to write this
letter, but I know there are some very eloquent writers on this forum and maybe
someone would like to help out.

We have always followed the rules and for the most part the dump has been very
friendly to us.  There has to be some way to set aside a day a week for an hour
where we can set up out of the way to get our larus fix in.

I don’t know.  In any event it put a damper on the afternoon birding
