I ran up to Mountain Dell this morning hoping the water hadn't frozen over and
that a LTDU would be watiting to add to my county list. No such luck, only a
10' x 6' patch of water near the inlet was open with the following lounging
around:

1 Ring-necked Duck
2 Common Goldeneye
8 Mallard

I decided to make a quick check on Little Dell, which in stark contrast was
almost completely ice free with a smattering of waterfowl. I spent 45 minutes
traversing the nasty reflections and diving and popping up birds to no avail.
However, there were 5 CANVASBACK, including 3 beautiful males and a host of
other waterfowl and birds:

14 Mallard
1 Gadwall
4 American Wigeon
224 Ring-necked Duck
4 Bufflehead
43 Common Goldeneye
1 Barrow's Goldeneye (female)
27 Americna Coot
4 BUSHTIT (creeping along the hillside above the lookout)
1 Black-capped Chickadee
2 Western Scrub-Jay
6 Black-billed Magpie

Good Birding
