Correction as to the UOS trip planned for May 18-19, 2007.

The Great Salt Lake Bird Festival will be in full swing on those days, and I forgot to check my day-timer. Many potential trip participants will be planning to attend the Festival during that week.

We are presently deciding whether to go to the Ouray NWR on May 12, which is their annual Migratory Bird Day, but when we will probably miss seeing any American Bitterns, but have numerous other migrants; or to do in on June 2, when we will have a better chance of seeing a bittern or two, but the mosquitoes might be bad. Last year on the first Saturday in June, they weren't. Diane Penttila at Ouray also said that last year, even though she saw bitterns quite regularly during the summer, they were never in the same location to be consistent. It's always questionable seeing a bittern there, anyway. The last 2 times that I have been there, no bitterns were seen or even heard. Saturday, May 26 is the Memorial Day weekend and we don't want to conflict with that. (At least I remembered that date.)

Any suggestions from Utah birders will be entertained.
