[Birdtalk] Long-tailed Duck

I stopped at Mountain Dell Reservoir this morning to see if the duck was 
still there.  It was reported about a week ago, but I haven't had time to 
check it out.  I'm happy to report that it is indeed where it was seen 
earlier - at the west end of the reservoir.  It was hanging out with a 
bunch of ducks - ringnecks, common goldeneyes, widgeons, red heads, 
mallards, ...   I also got a nice look at a bald eagle sitting in a tree 
above the water.

To get there, you can park at the golfers' bridge and walk west along
the fairway that's closest to I-80.  When you get to the end of the golf
course, you'll be able to see the open water.  For a better view, keep
walking under the power line for another hundred yards or so.

For once, NOT a day late and a bird short.  :-)
