Thank you to all who have provided this info. I've been struggling with locations, as I'm sure others do as well. This site is a very helpful resource. Thank you!

Mark,
Your point is well taken; we do need to do better about providing location information in our posts. If, however, you are unfamiliar with areas being mentioned, a good solution is to go to http://www.utahbirds.org/counties/SiteIndex.htm <http://www.utahbirds.org/counties/SiteIndex.htm> where you will find a very detailed index of most of those locations with excellent directions as well as links to maps.
The River Lane entry, for example, reads as follows:
Directions: Take exit 260 (Springville) from I-15, and head west for about 4.5 miles to a "T" in the road. Turn right and go to the next road about a block away just before the road crosses the Spanish Fork River, and turn right onto River Lane.
Hope this is helpful.

For the benefit of folks who are new to Utah, would posters please give a little more info on location. I've been frustrated on a number of posts. If it weren't for the reference to West Springville below, I wouldn't even know what part of the state I should start looking in. I'd love to get a chance to go looking but I've noticed on many posts that I don't even know where to start...maybe at least County information.
Thanks!
Mark Gerber

I made a run to River Lane on Monday at about 8:30 a.m. At .2 miles in from the cattle guard on the opposite side of the river was a very active bunch of small birds in some Russian Olives. These included Townsend’s Warblers, Yellow Warblers, Yellow-Rumped Warblers, Warbling Vireos (at least one), American Goldfinches, and Black-Capped Chickadees -- perhaps the same flock with which the Northern Parula was seen consorting, but it didn’t show itself during the limited time I had to look for it.

Folks,
This afternoon, from about 4:30 to 7 p.m. Merrill Webb and I patrolled River Lane with the hope of seeing the No. Parula. No luck! Not much of anything moving around. In the area of warblers we saw Yellow Warblers and at least one Yellow-rumped Warbler. But, nothing rare or unique. We started looking at about ¼ mile from the entrance to River Lane, just past the gate to the farmer’s field (with all the NO TRESSPASSING signs). We first worked the trees to the lake, then returned. Then we worked the trees from the starting point back to the entrance.
However, other birds seen included the following:
River Lane:
Bullocks Oriole
Clark’s Grebe
American Coot
Killdeer
Mourning Dove
Common Nighthawk
BC Chickadee
No. Rough-winged Swallow
Barn Swallow
Bank Swallow
American Goldfinch (f)
Barn Owl (Merrill found what looks to be its roosting place, to the north, just past the entrance of River Lane.)
Eurasian Collared-Dove (at the usual place)
West Springville:
Forster’s Tern
Cattle Egret (2 in the field with some Black Angus cattle).
Good birding!
Glenn
