Hello,
This evening (5/7) I spent a little while trying to relocate the two female
Garganey observed yesterday without luck. A few others, including Kevin and
Pam Wheeler looked around a bit as well but couldn't turn up the birds. As
far as I know, no one saw any teal around either. It's possible they are
still somewhere in the cattails along the east side of the reservoir,
however there is a lot of human activity on Sand Hollow (fisherman, boats,
jetskis, ohv's, campers, dogs, etc.) so they also may have been pushed out
of the area. If they are still in the area, the most likely spot close by is
the SR-9 Sewer Ponds, and these ponds might be worth a look for anyone out
this weekend.
Regards,
