Thanks to all who responded to my Wood Duck question. I had completely forgotten about the WD's raised in Ogden near WSU and their progeny who have gone on to populate the area, but was reminded by a couple of people. That bit of info brought back fond memories of birding back in the early to mid 80's in that area that were quite nice. Time flies. And so do birds. I think in the future if I should run across a WD I'll try to get it to climb up on to my arm and eat from my hand - if it takes off for tall timber I'll know it's wild; if it snuggles up to me and wants to be held I'll know someone is missing "Fred" or "Marlene". Just kidding.
Thanks again.
