[Birdnet] Forgot to mention...

I'm embarassed to say I forget who it was who saw these birds but a pair of Wood Ducks were spotted in the little canal right near the gate at Egg Island, on your left side as you're facing the gate. By the time our car caught up they were nowhere to be seen. Does anyone know how common Wood Ducks are in Utah? Years ago, before I had some gray hair and touches of arthritis, we were taught by our more experienced birding friends that all Wood Ducks seen in most of Utah were supposed to be considered escapees. This notion seems to have fallen by the wayside. The last ones I saw were also in a canal but down in Utah County and I considered it wild.David Jensen
