Pomera,

In response to your email.

>>I see little prudence in an armchair assessment of a bird someone hasn't
seen (and that is only 20 minutes away)and for which photos have not even
been reviewed. *

I felt my email was quite prudent. The bird was indeed a Red-winged
Blackbird... so, I'll leave it at that.

Also I pointed out specific species which HAVE NO KNOWN VAGRANCY as
examples. Every species you has some type of known vagrancy, and in some
cases specific natural reasoning for the species showing up when and where
they did. I won't go into detail as its obviously not worth it, since my
last email was taken in such a wrong way.

FYI, here is the ebird map for Western Gull, showing a slightly different
picture than the Patuxent map *which is why I included both):

>>Tim - your disclaimer that maybe you are dead wrong doesn't lessen the
sting of a slap in the face. And as to your invitation to keep the reports
coming - I'm not inclined knowing that you are out there lurking and ready
to strike. Makes me think of the line from the old children's poem - "Will
you walk into my parlor?" said the spider to the fly...

A slap in the face? Okay, I'll make sure not to respond to any email you
ever send in the future. Sorry you were offended by my attempt to share
some information that seemed to have been overlooked when you reported your
sighting.

I may just unsubscribe myself, so I don't have to worry about offending
anyone in the future. ANd if you think you are any better by sending a
public response like you did to me, you're not, you jsut slapped me in the
face to. Oh well, I have thick skin, and really don't care.

>>You all might find it interesting to know that there is a tricolored
sighting currently pending before the Idaho Rare Birds Committee. Here's
the link:

Looks like a Red-winged to me...

Tim
