Margaret and I went out to the lek near Henefer Saturday morning to see
the Sage Grouse. We arrived about 0630 and could see about a dozen birds
in the moonlight. As time went on more birds keep arriving until there
were approimately 75-100 birds displaying. About 1/2 hour before the sun
broke over the mountain the whole flock spooked and flew off. Less than
2 minutes after that a Golden Eagle flew over. We left about a half hour
after sunrise and only 8 or 9 birds had come back. Quite an impressive
sight.
