[Birdnet] Request for North American Birds Winter Reports

Hello Nevada and Utah birders,

It's time to submit your Winter bird sightings for inclusion in North
American Birds (ABA's 'Quarterly Journal of Ornithological Record'
(http://www.aba.org/nab/ ).

Please send details on all vagrant birds, seasonally or regional rare
species, unusual high (or low) numbers, etc. observed from December 1, 2008
to February 28, 2009. Details (and photographs) on observations of state
review birds are very much appreciated.

Many of you correctly assume I monitor the listserves and receive much of
the information you post there, however it is often difficult to glean
details of the sightings from these posts (e.g. observers, how long a rare
bird sticks around, etc.). So, the only way to ensure your sightings are
accurately included is to submit details in your quarterly reports.

Also, if you have any nice photos of rare birds that you'd like to submit
for publication please send me an email.

Many thanks to those who have already submitted their reports, and I look
forward to receiving the rest of your reports.

This fall issue should feature some nice photographs by Greg Scyphers,
Martin Meyers, Steve Ting, and Jason Pietrzak. This winter there were many
incredible observations highlighted by many rare gull observations, several
Rusty Blackbirds, and the White-winged Crossbill invasion. Make sure all
your observations are accounted for and submit your report!
