Hello everybody,
I saw a Grasshopper Sparrow on the Provo Airport dike road on Tuesday,
April 21, 2009 in the mid-morning. It hopped onto the road, crossed
the road (going north) and then hopped through the fence and East. We
then lost it. I was able to get 3 very unsatisfactory pictures of it,
which I can send you.
For those interested in looking for it, it was on the part of the dike
that sticks out into Provo Bay in a square shape (look on Google Earth
or Google Maps). We were driving west at perhaps the middle of that
part of the dike.
NOTE: There were also Vesper Sparrows, Song Sparrows, White-crowned
Sparrows, a Savannah Sparrow, and possibly a Black-throated Sparrow on
the dike.
Best,
Josh Kreitzer
