[Birdnet] "Musings" instead of bird sighting reports

Sent in my little piece about starlings and robins and received two notes from two people saying they liked reading it. BUT, one person said he'd been chastised by another birder for sending in "musings" about birds instead of JUST reporting where they are. Is there any rule regarding this? Just curious.
