For today's birding loop, I headed to the Kaysville ponds, where at
least 8 Hooded Mergansers were present - 3 males and 5 females. The
other usual duck species were also there. Farmington Bay had a male
Northern Harrier, Kestrel, and Rough-legged Hawk. Next, it was down
Legacy Parkway to "Lake Bountiful," which had fisherpeople, and then
further south on Legacy, where a Bald Eagle was perched on a snag to
the west about a mile north of the 500 South Bountiful exit. Lake Park
had the Barrow's Goldeneye that Time reported, along with a security
guard who wondered what on earth I was doing on the premises. Nice day
to be out and about.
