I just received a call from Colby Neuman who repeted he and Jeff Bilsky had just found a WOOD THRUSH at Lucin trap in the west desert.

Lucin is about 50 miles north of Wendover and accesuble via the last Utah exit along I-80 before going into Nevada! If you take this exit and go north till the road splits about .5 miles north of the highway and turn onto the left fork you are headed in the right direction.

You will come to a crest over the hills where there is a building. Take the road going to the northwest of this. Shortly thereafter the pavement ends at the Utah borde and you will be on dirt road for about 45 miles.

Stay on this main dirt road and it will pass several farms and ranches. Lucin is impossible to miss as it is a huge patch of trees in the middle of nowhere right off the road. There is a large sign here telling you an about its history. Lastly there are actve railroad tracks within 100 yards to the north of the trees.

Colby didn't say where exactly the bird was but the area is small and can be birded through in a couple minutes to find a bird like this that is most likely staying close to the ground.

I think this is only the 2nd report for this species from Utah!

Good Birding
