Great Salt Lake Bird Festival Field Trip Report
Garr Ranch

Saturday morning, Steve and I, along with Jolene Hatch (Antelope Island
Biologist), hosted a fieldtrip to Garr Ranch.
It was billed as an early morning Garr Ranch trip. So we hurried across the
causeway only stopping once to note Black-bellied Provers and Snowy Plovers.

About half a mile before the ranch we saw two Grasshopper Sparrows.

At the ranch many of the migrants that we had seen the week before were
gone. The surprise of the day was a Pine Grosebeak in the picnic area.
Other birds seen were MacGillivray's Warbler, Wilson's Warbler, Eastern
Kingbird, Dusky Flycatcher, and a House Wren.

Our Species list totaled 67.

How'd I do Tim?
