[Birdnet] Monday birding at ISSR

After being cooped up in meetings for MONTHS, I finally got out to the
ISSR to see if spring was coming at all. I always hate to post stuff
that most of you can't get into, but I thought maybe you'd want a little
update.

All the ice is off all 9 of my ponds and it's waterfowl heaven. Because
my ponds are so shallow I usually don't get a lot of diving ducks - not
so yesterday. However, no shorebirds - not even a killdeer. Best sign
of spring was a group of 10 cinnamon teal in 30 or so green-winged teal.
Other sign was all the paired up geese - no big groups at all. There
were a lot more ducks that were too far and too windy to i.d. - below
are numbers I feel pretty good about.

CAGO - 40

TUSW - 12

Canvasback - 50

Redhead - 20

Bufflehead - 10

Scaup sp - 50

Greater scaup - at least 2!

Common goldeneye - 100

Shovelers - 1000

Pintail - 500

Gadwall - 400

Ruddy duck - 20

CITE - 10

GWTE - 10

Coot - 200

Possibly some ring-neck ducks - the wind was so high I had white caps
and couldn't get good looks with them cresting and troughing

Mallard - 100

Raven - 6

Golden eagle - 2 (one on a kill on a little island with ravens fussing
at it and the rest of the ducks on the pond sitting tight and looking
nervous)

Harrier - 6

Rough-legged hawk - 2

Meadow lark - just one

White-crowned sparrow - 4

RWBB - 20

Starlings - 100
