Starting to thaw out slowly.  Still no open water in the impoundments and
only a few slivers of open water here and there on the river.  The
following birds were seen within the survey route:

Canada geese    1,499
Northern pintail   1
Sandhill crane   39
Killdeer   2
Northern harrier   2
Red-tailed hawk   3
Rough-legged hawk   3
Bald eagle   4
