I am not the most experienced of birders, but when I saw the Farmington
RSHA, it had the roufus breast with white barring, the white cresents on the
wings and streaking on the underwings. When I look at the photos of RSHA
and RTHA in the utahbirds.org bird guide, what I saw in Farmington matches
very closely- to the best of my memory - with the photos in utahbirds.org.
I have zillions of RTHA s around my house and I'm very familiar with them.
What I saw in Farmington was not one of them. As I read this debate, I have
to ask --- are we all looking at the same bird?
My opinions are based on the numerous RTHAs I've seen around my house for
many years vs what I saw at Farmington and have made comparisons with the
bird guides. I realize I'm not an absolute expert on these things, I am
merely voicing my observations and thoughts, all of which are subject to
change upon enlightenment. *g*
