The Antelope Island Causeway was buckets of fun this morning.
Highlights were:

1 Ruddy Turnstone between mm 1 and 2 on the north side close to the
brown post weather station
3 Snowy Plovers - 1 adult and 2 young 'uns (they are way cute) between
mm 5 and 6 on the south side in the loose rocks
13 Black-bellied Plovers at about mm 6 on the north side
2 very distant Semipalmated Plovers between mm 5 and 6 on the north side
about a dozen Sanderlings at about mm 2 on both sides-neat comparison
between breeding plumage and winter plumage
numerous Lesser Yellowlegs between mm 1 and 3 on the north side
1000's of Phalaropes, including many breeding plumage Red-necked.
Kris Purdy
1 Long-billed Curlew
numerous Willets
2 Marbled Godwits close in
Avocets by the gazillions
Western Sandpipers - a few close in and masses farther out
1 rare and endangered Killdeer at the marina
100's of Franklin's Gulls (a couple from TX that I ran into thought
they were Laughing Gulls, so a bit of clarification was in order)
1 Great Blue Heron
2 Burrowing Owls at mm 6 on the south side (a third owl was found dead
on the road according to a photographer who was there)

Lowlights:
Annoying Flies (plenty)

Go see the phalarope spectacle, if nothing else. It's quite a show.
