[Birdnet] No Redpoll... Yes - Red-shouldered Hawk

The Sommerfeld's and I ran up to Antelope Island this afternoon to try and relocate the redpoll that was reported earlier in the day. WE met up with Glenn Barlow and septn time on pretty much the entire road to the ranch. Unfortunately, we saw no redpoll,m nor any goldfinches. IN fact bird life was quite scarce on the island. I caught glimpse of a shrike flying into the "smog/fog" that looked to be a Northern, and a ways later spotted a Loggerhead off in the Russian Olives. We did see a few Horned Lark flocks, as well as American Tree Sparrow flocks, and all the other island regulars. Lots of coyotes out and about today, as weel as a few pronghorn.
On the way back to Salt Lake, Cyndy asked Steve to make a quick stop to look for the RSHA they had found last week. The bird was sitting right off the freeway and could be seen from the overpass quite well. It made one quick flight to the ground as if it were trying to catch something, but flew off empty handed. I snapped a few shots of the bird in the failing light:
