The Red-necked Grebe was still present at Mt. Dell Reservoir as of 3:00 this afternoon when Steve Carr and I were there.

The bird was rougly in the same area as originally reported by Jeff. At one point, it seemed to be bothered by the close proximity of a Common Loon. It lifted up and skimmed across the surface of the water, flapping its wings for all it was worth. We got a very nice look at the white leading wing edges and the white secondaries. Pretty cool to have the opportunity to see these field marks!

Jeff...if you're still at work, you need to punch out so you can get out there and find us another good bird.
