I spent a couple hours at the IC this evening, hoping that based off the radar
images last night, a good number of migrants would be using the area. Although
the overall number of birds wasn't overwhelming, there was a wide variety of
species and several good finds. The most interesting bird was an empid that I
fit the "bill" (no pun intended) for LEAST FLYCATCHER:

The bird was hanging out on the north side of the Compeq building along the
fence line that is the northern edge of the IC. This area has been one of the
most consistently productive areas at the IC, and has produced several good
birds. There is an east-west line of conifers here, along a ditch with some
small Russian Olive trees. To get to this area, take the 5600 West exit off of
I-80 and go north to Harold Gatty Drive. Turn Left and follow the road till it
comes to a "T" at John Glenn Road. Turn right and drive to the dead end and
park. The tree line is on your right and stretches about 150 yards.

Besides the flycatcher, there were 5 MOUNTAIN CHICKADEE'S around the IC. 3
birds were north of the Compeq building, while the other two were at the corner
of Earhart and Lindbergh. Quite a surprise for September, but on par with the
other movements of mountain species, as well as recent sightings on the eastern
plains in Colorado.

There was a FOX SPARROW near 600 North and 5600 West, as well as 2 SWAINSON'S
THRUSH.

There are still numerous CHIPPING SPARROW roaming about in loose flocks. I saw
6 different flocks around, the largest being about 70 birds.
