Waterbird/Raptor Count
10/25/07

Total waterfowl increased to about 105,000.   Average for this week in
October is 220,000.  Total shorebirds around 1700 which is only about half
of the long-term average.  October high count of Great Blue Heron.  Notable
sighting was a late black-necked stilt.  Yellowlegs observed a short
distance from the tour loop in the two northern wetland units that were
burned for phragmites control earlier this month.   Tundra Swans have begun
to arrive.  The following birds were observed from the tour loop:
