And, in contrast to Tim's "wide awake" owl images, here's the little 
guy during morning nap time today - until its peaceful rest was rudely 
interrupted by 3 scrub jays who came a-mobbing. Then it was "down the 
hatch mighty fast." Thanks for the tip, DeeDee.

P.S. I saw my first Bald Eagle of the winter season at Farmington Bay 
WMA today - also at least a dozen Greater Yellowlegs still hanging 
around. There was a Horned Grebe still at Lee Kay Ponds.
  After all this fun of the last two days, it's back to face Halloween 
with 25 10-year-olds. Anyone want to sub?
