Jeff,
Thanks for the video. That's the hole (minus the Western Screech Owl) Tim, Paul, and I were looking at this morning. Maybe he/she slept somewhere else last night. I will try again over the next few days. The Winter Wren was a year bird for me, so the visit was still worth it. Paul and I birded together for a while after we gave up on the owl and saw the previously mentioned Steller's Jays. We also has a very good and long look at a Sharp-shinned Hawk. Also seen were the to be expected Black-capped Chickadees, Dark-eyed Juncos, Scrub Jays, Magpies, a Red-tailed Hawk, a couple of Song Sparrows, and some Spotted Towhees slinking through the brush.

Tim,
This may help. I found it last night around dusk and took some video. The hole is right across the river about 15-20 yards (?) east of the cement barrier. Deedee's original email said 5 yards east which I believe may've been underestimated. I found it in that general area just further east. I should've clarified in my earlier email. I will likely head back tonight to check for it again around 6:30ish. I'll be wearing a Chicago Whitesox floppy hat if you want me to point out the hole although based on your description I think you may've found it. After watching the bird for 30 minutes or so and dusk settled in, he became more alert and eventually flew off into the woods after something.
Here is the video I took of him: http://youtube.com/watch?v=RtSeM5p-RiY<http://youtube.com/watch?v=RtSeM5p-RiY>

I headed over to Parley's Gulch to try and photograph the Screech-Owl that
Deedee found earlier this week. When I arrived Stephen Carlisle and Paul
Lombardi were alreay looking for the bird, which we were unable to find. We
couldn't even find a flicker hole at across the river at the spot mentioned.
There were some holes about 30-40 yards up river, one that looked to be an old
excavated flicker hole that looked like a good roost site, but no owl...
However, while we were standing there, at the cement barrier on the left, and
where the metal poss cross the river, a WINTER WREN came across the path and
landed in the brush on the river bank.
