We've been able to divert water into one of the pools in Sheppard Bottom
just in time for the sandhill cranes' arrival.   The following birds were
seen within the survey route:

Northern pintail   21
Ruddy duck   9
Redhead   4
Ring-necked duck   1
American coot   125
Great blue heron   1
Sandhill crane   246
American white pelican   2

Western sandpiper   2
Least sandpiper   1
Pied-billed grebe   2
Eared grebe   2
Red-tailed hawk   4
American kestrel   2
Peregrine falcon   1
Northern harrier   4
Turkey vulture   1
