The best time to see the cranes is late morning to mid-afternoon.  The
following birds were seen within the survey route:

Northern pintail   37
Ruddy duck   14
Bufflehead   4
Common merganser   5
American coot   34
Great blue heron   1
Sandhill crane   708
Pied-billed grebe   3

Red-tailed hawk   4
Northern harrier   4
Great horned owl   1
