This morning I heard at least one AMERICAN REDSTART in the Jordanelle
Reclamation Area along the boardwalk heading north from the parking
area. The bird was initially heard singing about 60 feet off trail and
out of sight. After some pishing and giving a few alert whistles the
bird moved closer and I managed a few looks and snap a shot.

And up river near the dam I was pretty sure I heard another one singing,
but could never get glass on it in the tall cottonwoods. To get to the
reclamation area turn off of hwy. 40 onto hwy. 32 below Jordanelle
Reservoir. Take the first left and travel to the 2nd public access road
on the left. (there are two stone pillars here). You can park in the
loop here and then walk to the boardwalk to the north of the parking
area. From here it was about 200 feet to where the bird was seen.

Along Potter Lane, just north of Heber City I saw 6 BOBOLINKS, which put
on quite a show for the hour I watched. At one point I had 5 males all
in the air displaying and chasing one another.

From hwy. 40 it is about .6 miles to where the Bobolinks were seen,
hanging out on the north side of the road.

And at the Charleston City Park were 3 Common Grackles, one of which was
making all kinds of racket. 4 or 5 Eurasian Collared-Doves were also in
the vicinity.

And at the corner of hwy. 113 (Charleston Road) and W. 2400 South was a
single adult female Common Goldeneye.

Good Birding
