Total waterfowl around 8,000 and total shorebirds around 8,000.  These are
both lower than the long-term averages for this week of 18,000 and 16,000
respectively.  New species for the season include Wilson's Phalarope,
spotted sandpiper and an interesting blue-winged teal, northern shoveler
hybrid.
