We had an Ash-throated Flycatcher in the back yard this morning here in
Croydon. The bird was singing and catching bugs in the sage brush behind our
house. We lost track of the bird after it got in a scuffle with a male
Cassin's Finch that landed to close to it. I hope it will come back and stay
for a while.
I was watching the Mountain Bluebirds tonight feed their young, which was
very interesting, seemed like the female was making four to five trips to
every one male trip. It looked like they were feeding them mostly crickets
and cicadas, those noisy bugs good riddance.
Good luck birding
