I was out walking in the sage behind our house this morning and flushed a
pair of Gray Partridge with day old chicks. I was able to count eight but am
pretty sure that there was more than that.
The rarest thing I've had in the yard lately are a few female Rufous
Hummingbirds coming to the feeders.
Also of interest was that the female bluebird built a new nest on top of the
old one the day after the young fledge. I was sure that they were going to
have a second batch but was disappointed when they all move on about a week
later.
Well hopefully the birds will start coming back threw in the nest week or
so. I'd like to have something to watch, right now it is pretty dead here.
