[Birdnet] Lonely bird

I observed a single American Avocet along the Antelope Island causeway this morning.  The birds was in beautiful winter plumage on the north side of the causeway approximately mm 2.  He was near the colvert remains.  He was foraging right along with the Common Goldeneyes.    I was wondering if he was either lost, got left behind, or decided he no longer wanted to be a snow bird and was to tired to head south.
