[Birdnet] Snow Goose Festival - Snow and Ross's Geese

Just returned from the Salt Lake Birder's trip to the Delta Snow Goose Festival. A great trip with 43 species seen at Delta, Clear Lake, and points in between; though little open water. The expected thousands of Snow Geese seen. A truly neat sight, especially when they all got airborne and circled overhead for a few minutes before settling on the ice again. But there were also lots of Ross's Geese. I have never seen so many. I consider myself lucky to see one a year. I saw twenty plus myself, nine within the same scope view. If the ratios we were seeing are consistent throughout the "flock", their must be a hundred plus Ross's mixed in with the Snowies. Also saw two Cackling Geese (short neck and stubby bill).

Thanks,

Stephen
