We have started to thaw out some and we can tell it will happen fast and
will open water in our wetlands soon.  But we would rather have more winter
as we really depend on good snowpack to flood us in the spring.  The
following birds were seen within the survey route:

Canada geese    597
Mallard   65
Northern pintail   16
Green-winged teal   16
Great blue heron   1
Bald eagle   5
Golden eagle   2
Red-tailed hawk   3
Northern harrier   4
