[Birdnet] Possible Snowy Owl Sighting

Greetings -

Thanks to Bill Fenimore for his recommendation to contact the UWA.

Let me update you on GSLA's efforts regarding the Snowy Owl.  We have left messages for the president of the Rudy Duck Club which to date have not been returned.  We have also alerted some of the duck clubs in the area and UDWR personnel to keep an eye open for the bird.

Folks, GSLA really is making a legitimate effort to first, verify and document the owl sighting for the CBC and UOS records and second, strike some kind of deal to allow birders an opportunity to see the owl if it is relocated.

Obviously, our efforts are not moving along very quickly.  Maybe that's the nature of the beast.  Not being a hunter, I appreciate Bill's insight into how duck club members wait for this season "all year" and his speculation that they may be reticent to let us behind the gates because it is "their season."

I will contact the UWA and update you as things develop.
