Hi All,

Woke up this morning to about 8" of snow, and it is still coming down!
Suddenly we have hundreds of new-found feathered friends. There still is
only one scrub jay, one song sparrow, and we've seen one of our three or
four flickers so far this morning, as well as a harrier flying over. The
Eurasian collared doves are suddenly conspicuous by their absence. The
small bird scene is where its happenin' this morning. Suddenly we have 50
or more House sparrows, probably two dozen Pine siskins, a dozen pairs of
House finches (no Cassins yet), maybe 60 goldfinches (I can count up to 20
at a time on one thistle feeder), and a dozen or more juncos (Oregon,
Slate-colored, and at least one Pink-sided). I thought I saw a White-winged
junco a couple of days ago, but didn't get a picture, so I'm watching for
that one. The White-crowned sparrows.all the pale-lored as near as I can
tell....have about doubled since yesterday.

Our birding plan for today: make some green chili stew and 'scope the
feeders!
