I have received a a lot a great suggestions on the woodpecker. However, as
I have looked through Cornell's bird guide, my Sibley's, Stokes and Birds of
North America guides AND Utah birds.org... I don't think it is a Downy or a
Hairy, either. It had very distinct wing markings like the Ladder-Backed,
however, the back was solid white and had a red nape. According to the pics
I have seen, the Downy and Hairy have spotted wings rather than striped. I
agree it was NOT a Ladder-Backed, but I don't think it was a Downy or Hairy
either. The head and chin of the red-naped sapsucker have way too much red
for this guy. Also, it could be a juvie of some kind. I will keep my
camera strapped to my body and get a shot of this guy.

I'm having a lot of fun, are you?
