Keith:
We saw a Kriders three years ago on one of our regular Saturday morning bird walks. We were up on top of Francis Peak in Farmington toward the end of September. It was a raptor migration observation bird walk. When we were driving back down the canyon, we came upon the Red-tail that was soaring below us, hanging on a thermal. It was a very neat view from above. The snowy white coverts on its back were quite dramatic.

Subject: [Birdnet] Krider's Hawk
We have had an interesting hawk hanging out in Cache County for the last week. After observing the bird several different times, we have come to the conclusion that it is a juvenile Krider’s hawk. This bird seems to be a pure form, every fits. The bird has been hanging out on the Benson Road, which is 3200 W. off Highway 30, west of Logan. We’re wondering if anyone else have seen Krider’s and in what areas of Utah. Keith Archibald _______________________________________________
