On Saturday, we saw the Red-breasted Sapsucker reported at Lytle Ranch by
Larry Tripp. For two hours it never moved from the tree trunk it was on,
unlike the many Red-naped Sapsuckers throughout the orchard. If the St.
George Library computers were working, we would have reported it earlier.
Also Saturday, we found a Vermillion Flycatcher at the pond at Southgate
Golf Course (St. George).
FYI, for those willing to make a long day trip from St. George, the very
rare Streak-backed Oriole was still at the Desert Studies Center at the
Zzyzx oasis in Mojave National Preserve in So. California on Friday.
