Finally, I have the chance to make a post that's knot-worthy. The five RED KNOTS continue their sojourn north of Antelope Island Causeway in Davis County. They were in the usual shorebird spot this evening north of mile marker 6. The four DUNLINS were present as well, along with hundreds of Black-bellied Plovers, 44 dowitchers, Sanderlings, Semi-palmated Plovers, and the regular crowd of too-far peeps. Eight Snowy Plovers were off the south side of the causeway at about the same location.

Shorebirding at this spot continues to be a spotting scope endeavor for me. The birds were far enough away to be identifiable down to the Sanderlings and Semi-palmated Plovers, but not the peeps. I scanned repeatedly for the Ruddy Turnstone without success. That bird would have been identifiable at the distance where the flock foraged tonight had it been present.
