Please see the message below from Robin Wolcott of Bozeman, Montana. Robin's post this morning either didn't go through at all or simply hasn't cleared yet, and I'm forwarding news of some great birds on her behalf.

Dear Friends in Utah

Yesterday, May 9 at about 1130 am, my husband and I observed a lone Common Grackle in the restroom/picnic/shop area at the start/finish of the Auto Tour Loop Rd at Bear River Bird Refuge. We also enjoyed a Whimbrel on the most westerly portion of the loop road. Also along the road in, about a mile from the loop we found 2 Snowy Plovers in the mud flats near the long red "barn/hunt clubhouse" where the road makes a sharp turn.

I'm never sure exactly how "rare" some of these species are but feel it's better to err on the too many sightings side.

Have a wonderful bird fest, sorry we can't join you!

Good Birding
Robin
