 Happy 4th!

This morning on a walk with my wife I got really good looks at at least
2 GRAY CATBIRDS right at the base of Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon. I
don't know if these had been reported earlier, but these are the first I've
ever seen in UT County. It was about 8:00 AM, and one of the birds was
quite tame and singing very enthusiastically. Both were later seen chasing
each other through the forest understory adjacent to the paved trail closer
to the Nunn's Park parking lot. We also were treated to close-range views of
a SWAINSON'S THRUSH in the brush near the base of the falls.

A few other recent sightings include:
-N. MOCKINGBIRD (near Lehi High School, about 10 June 2006)
-WILSON'S SNIPE (breeding pair, seen frequently on fenceposts just north of
Lehi Main Street, about several hundred yards east of Jordan River. Usually
easily seen any given day, esp. morning, from end of April to present)
-FOX SPARROW (at Canyon View Park in Provo Canyon, 17 June 2006)
-YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT (North Arm Nature Area, 24 June 2006, 2 adults and one
possible juvenile)

I've been keeping an eye out for Black Swifts at Bridal Veil Falls because
I've read that they've been seen there in the past. Any recent sightings?

Thanks,
Nate Nye
